TROOP 122 PAPER AIR PLANE CONTEST
The Divisions will be run separately with each plane allowed two runs per division entered. Awards will be given in the following divisions: In all Divisions, each boy will handle his own plane(s).

The Longest Distance Division will be held in the nave of the church.
All contestants will start from the front of the nave. The plane
reaching furthest to the rear of the church wins. The plane may not
be handled, assisted or otherwise affected upon it's flight once it leaves
the hand of the starter.
The Stunt Plane Division winners will be the best flyer in each of the following categories. The flyer must name and describe the flight before the plane is started. In this division are the following categories with prizes awarded in each category.
Loop - A smooth vertical loop in flight.
Hammerhead - Ascend to Stall, loop over and proceed in flight.
Stall and Recovery - Ascend to Stall, Recover and proceed without
looping
Left Roll - Roll 360 degrees to the left while in flight.
Right Roll - Roll 360 degrees to the right while in flight.
Left Bank - Turn smoothly to the left.
Right Bank - Turn smoothly to the right.
Open.
In the Open Category, difficulty of maneuver will be considered in addition to the accuracy of the preflight, flight description.
The Most Elaborate Flight Division will be the plane that makes the Fanciest Flight Pattern. This need not be described before hand.
The Best Boomerang Flight Division winner is the plane that when released by the flyer, glides appropriately and turns, returns and hits the flyer. Flyer may not move after plane is released. In case more than one person is hit, plane flying furthest wins.
The Most Accurate - Landing Closest to Target Division winner is the plane that lands closest to a 8 1/2" x 11" target twenty five feet in front of the flyer.
The Smallest Flyable Plane Division winner is the smallest plane entered in the contest that will fly at least ten feet. The plane must land at least ten feet from the point of starting.
The Longest Flight Time Division winner will be the plane that remains in the air the longest time.
The Most Demonstrative of Aeronautical Beauty of Design Division winner will be the plane best demonstrating principles of aeronautical design. The builder will detail these principles for the judges.
The Best Decorated Plane Division winner will be the plane judged by the judges to be that most appropriately decorated.
The Largest Flyable Plane is the plane with the greatest sum of overall length and wing span which flies the greater of ten feet or ten times its own overall length.
